CAE Preamps boost and sweeten the sound of your guitar!

CAE preamps enhance the sound quality of your pickups, especially when using stomp box effects or long cables, by buffering the guitar signal before it comes out of your guitar. Available models include the CB1, CB2, and Jangletone II. All three bring back the lost tone gobbled up by your effects.

Originally designed by John Cutler for Jerry Garcia, CB1 is a true Hi-Fi wideband guitar preamp. It buffers the high impedance output of the guitar pickup and provides the low impedance drive necessary to send the signal to the effects pedal with no tone loss. CB1 is designed to sit between the pickups and the output jack and to be “in circuit” at all times.

CB2 is the perfect choice when you want to run longer cables with no tone loss, yet still retain the natural clarity and definition of the instrument. Months of development and testing resulted in a product with exquisite tonal characteristics: a nice low end; clear mids with a touch of warmth; upper mids with a great ring quality; and clear, sweet highs. Major players using this product include Warren Haynes, Steve Kimock, Barry Sless.

Dual-Section Volume Control Pot
High quality plastic film type element control pot. The small size fits in almost all guitars. The two elements are on the same shaft so switching modes doesn't change the volume. The standard diameter shaft fits many generally available knobs. Values are 500K for passive mode and 25K for active mode, and both are Log or Audio Taper for a good feel.
